In July 2009, in La Phu commune, Hoai Duc District, Ha Noi,  the PECSME Project Management Unit (PMU) in collaboration with the Center for Energy Saving and Hanoi People's Committee of La Phu commune organized a workshop on “Energy Conservation and efficiency in production”.

     At the seminar, several speeches were presented: The situation of production and business of La Phu commune in 2008 and in the third quarter 2009; the status of energy use in enterprises/production farms in La Phu commune; opportunities and energy conservation solutions in production (in textile & food sectors); the experiences in deploying energy conservation projects in Vietnam and the criteria for selecting companies to participate the PECSME project.

     The seminar attracted over 100 delegates, including of the project experts, specialists of the Energy Conservation Center (ECC), Hanoi, officials of the People's Committee of La Phu commune and representatives of businesses, production farms in locality. Through the workshop, the Organizing Committee has established a list of potential businesses (enterprises) to participate in the project and expected to conduct the auditing in 03 enterprises, to support the “Development of the energy conservation and efficiency " firstly in a pilot commune  and then to deploy this model replicated across the whole province.
